Calligraphy is an ancient art actually it is type of visual art. Whereas Islamic calligraphy is our religious as well as cultural heritage, its protection and promotion is our collective responsibility. Basically, Islamic calligraphy is associated with geometric art. Proverbs and passages from the Holy Quran are the major source of inspiration. There are many types of scripts practiced the world over for calligraphy paintings by Zulfiqar Ali but the most preferable is khat-e-kufi. Zulfiqar Ali usually focuses on kufi script which was practiced much before Islam . With the advent of Islam ,Muslim promoted this script and brought creativity into it.
